Critiquing Photography
Descriptive: This photograph from cnet.com is descriptive because its purpose is to show what time it is.

Explanatory: My photograph is explanatory because its purpose is to warm people up when they are cold and sit in front of the fireplace to relax.
Interpretative: Cindy Karchner's photograph is interpretative because the arms and one leg are wrapped around the prop where the viewer can create their own conclusion about what might happening in the image.
Aesthetically Evaluative: My photograph is aesthetically evaluative because it shows the different colors blending in together to make a beautiful sunset.
Ethically Evaluative: This photograph from wordpress.com is ethically evaluative because it shows that the children are starving and not getting enough food. This has a deeper meaning by showing the conditions that they are in with the hope of getting more food.
Theoretical: My photograph of this building is theoretical because it shows the idea of how different light sources, in this case coming from the sun, can create different shadows depending on the angle of inclination.
